Growbie stands for Growth Mindset Newbies.
We believe every great career, opportunity, and relationship starts with the courage to be a beginner. Founded in 2022 by an international student(our founder Jashin Lin). Growbie was created to help first-gen international talent build confidence, meaningful relationships, and access to opportunities through the power of networking.
Too often, talented students and professionals are told to "network" but never taught how. Cultural differences, limited access, and a lack of role models can make networking feel intimidating and uncomfortable. Through our proven curriculum, personalized coaching, and supportive community, we help our members transform networking from a source of anxiety into a lifelong superpower.
Today, Growbie is a global community of ambitious students, professionals, and entrepreneurs who believe in the power of relationships. Our mission is simple: to help first-gen international talent unlock opportunities through meaningful connections. Because careers are built by people, and people change people.

Story
“I arrived in the United States as an international student in 2010 with big dreams and very little understanding of how careers actually worked in America. During my freshman year summer, as a student at a non-target school aspiring to break into Goldman Sachs, I quickly realized that good grades alone weren't enough. I had no network, no roadmap, and no idea how recruiting really worked.
Instead of accepting the odds, I decided to learn networking from scratch. That summer, I completed over 500 coffee chats with professionals across industries. Those conversations led to referrals, mentorship, opportunities, and ultimately a Goldman Sachs offer. It was a true story of a non-target school international student changing the trajectory of her career through the power of networking. Later, networking would also open doors to opportunities at TikTok as an early employee and Harvard Business School.
That experience inspired me to found Growbie in 2022. I realized there are millions of talented international students and professionals who aren't held back by a lack of ability, but by a lack of access, confidence, and meaningful connections. My mission is to help first-gen international talent network with confidence, unlock opportunities, and build the careers and lives they aspire to. Because your network is your net worth.”

Growbie is here to unlock career success for first-generation immigrants. Growbie is the FIRST career development platform for international students that bridges the cultural gap, develops career-readiness, and fosters a STEM talent pipeline.
Our first focus is to provide comprehensive networking bootcamps to help aspiring international students and working professionals from all backgrounds reach their career and personal goals.
